Different Utiel-Requena Wines |

At the western extreme of the province of Valencia, with an area of 39,800 hectares and a production
in '93 of 17 million litres, Utiel-Requena is an upland extension of the
central plateau.
The typical wines, which are made from some 90% of the black Bobal
grape with smaller amounts of Cencibel (Tempranillo) and
Garnacha, are
of three types: a thick, almost black vino de doble pasta for
blending (of which progressively less is being produced); a pale, light and entirely delicious rosé, and a sturdy red wine.
