spread of Barcelona has affected its development.

Spain. It has a micro-climate all of its own and is beginning to

This is the most recent
DO in La Mancha. It was originally a
Vino de la Tierra (VdlT), called
Sacedón-Mondéjar, and these wines can be obtained
in the UK. They are good and reasonably-priced.

in southern Spain. The main grape is Pedro
Ximénez and the classic Montillas are
"sherry-like" and are sold as fino or oloroso.

From Galicia, north-west
Spain, producing red and white wines; the whites from Godello,

From Galicia, north-west
Spain, producing mainly white wines, from Albariño,
Treixadura
and Torrontés grapes. In Galicia, they drink this wine from
small white cups.

From Extremadura in western
Spain on the border with Portugal. This is an up-and-coming region,
producing excellent reds and whites.

From both Aragón and Navarra in
northern Spain. This
Vino
de la Tierra is made from Graciano, Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha tinta, Merlot and Tempranillo.
